That's Hot!

Last month, , when in fact it was only 76 degrees. Well, we definitely have something to whine about now. It's currently 89 in Oakland, with a projected high of 92, which would beat the 1974 record of 91. Blah.

I know this is nothing compared to what people in places like Atlanta and Central Illinois are dealing with right now. I know this, in fact, because I have lived in both of those locations. However, 90 degrees without air conditioning is still pretty brutal, and no one has air conditioning. , and I went to a movie last night for the express purpose of sitting in a controlled climate, and guess what? The climate control consisted of a single fan and a door propped open to let in hot air.

Fortunately, the movie was good. Check out the trailer: .

ah but do you have humidity? that's what distinguishes the heat of georgia, north carolina, etc. from just about anywhere else.

it seems hard to believe that most folks my age grew up even in the southeast without air conditioning.

all that said, you have my sympathy. i hope your heat wave ends soon!
